Nestlé Japan Releases Complex "Whisky" KitKats
Aged for 180 days in Islay barrels.

Nestlé Japan has just unveiled its first KitKat Chocolatory product that’s not made in Japan. Dubbed the Whisky Barrel Aged KitKat, the chocolate wafers feature chocolate made from cacao nibs aged in Islay barrels for 180 days and is the creation of renowned Japanese patissier Yasumasa Takagi.
These KitKats are part of the KitKat Chocolatery series which is regarded as the premium line for its creations. The new mature flavor gives off a “delicate aroma and taste of whisky” with a deep and rich body. The packaging is also designed with a premium aesthetic that gives off a “feeling of relaxation.”
Each bar will be sold for ¥300 JPY (approximately $2.50 USD) and is set to release at all 7 KitKat Chocolatory boutiques across Japan on December 15.
