Wakeout! and Zoom Top Apple's 2020 Best App Awards
‘Genshin Impact’ and ‘Legends of Runeterra’ take home wins in the gaming category.
Apple has just announced the winners for the App Store‘s best of 2020.
With much of the year plagued by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there’s no surprise that the list of best apps across the different platforms have all focused on increasing productivity at home. Home and office exercise app Wakeout! takes home the win for best iPhone app this year, with Zoom winning the title on the iPad side and Fantastical for Mac. Disney+ tops the Apple TV category, while Genshin Impact and Legends of Runeterra fill out the two positions for best games on the iPhone and iPad respectively.
“This year, more than ever before, some of our most creative and connected moments happened in apps. This was thanks to the amazing work of developers who introduced fresh, helpful app experiences throughout the year,” said Apple Fellow Phil Schiller. “Around the world, we saw remarkable efforts from so many developers, and these Best of 2020 winners are 15 outstanding examples of that innovation. From helping us stay fit and mindful, to keeping our children’s education on track, to helping fight hunger, their impact was meaningful to so many of us.”
