Google has shared its annual findings of the most trending searches in 2020.

“In times of uncertainty, people seek understanding and meaning,” noted Google on its official Twitter account. “2020 was a year of deep questioning, as the world searched “why” more than ever, according to Google Trends. Explore more trends from the year at http://google.com/yearinsearch.” Some of the search words at the top of the list include “Coronavirus,” “WAP,” “Travis Scott” and “Joe Biden,” to mention a few. Other trending searches included “2020 presidential election,” “Kobe Bryant” and “Zoom.” Google also organized certain trends into categories. For example, actors like Chadwick Boseman, Tom Hanks, Joaquin Phoenix and Jada Pinkett Smith were among some of the names that ranked at the top in “Actors.” Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s “WAP” was placed at the top in the lyrics category, while “Shakira” and “Grimes” took top placements in “Musicians and Bands.”
