Lil Nas X has dropped off a music video for his brand new single, “HOLIDAY.”
Directed by Gibson Hazard and the artist himself, the impressive video brings us to the North Pole in 2220 and sees Nas X try on a number of beautifully detailed costumes, including a futuristic Santa Claus with robot helpers named Santa Nas X, a toy soldier named Nasarati X, an elf named Tolaÿ and another toy named Sonic.
“HOLIDAY” marks Nas X’s first release since his 7 EP in 2019, and he uses the track to address the critics who label him as a one-hit wonder. The young artist is aware of how “Old Town Road” acts as a double-edged sword, saying, “They wanna know if I be lastin/B*tch, even if I started floppin’, that’d be fashion.” He even slides in a cheeky line about his sexuality (Nas X came out as gay last year) — “I might bottom on the low, but I top sh*t” — letting his everyone know that he’s more than comfortable in his own skin.
