2 Chainz Enlists Kanye West, Lil Wayne and More for New Album 'So Help Me God!'
Described by the rapper as ‘a light during a dark time.’
2 Chainz has dropped off his sixth studio album, So Help Me God!
Clocking in at approximately 50 minutes, the 15-track project includes guest features from the likes of Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz on “Feel A Way,” Lil Wayne on “Money Maker,” NBA YoungBoy on “Save Me” and Lil Uzi Vert and Chief Keef on “Free Lighter.”
“I like to describe So Help Me God! as a light during a dark time,” 2 Chainz told Apple Music. “It’s a time capsule of what we’ve been experiencing during this pandemic, during this year. But it’s the light side. It’s the other side of the pillow.”
So Help Me God! is supposedly the College Park, Georgia rapper’s final album with Def Jam Recordings. “I’ve been with Def Jam for a long time, that’s my home right there. There’s no bad blood there,” 2 Chainz told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in a January 2020 interview, continuing, “I love what they’re doing. I’m just coming into another layer, another section, of life, where it’s just about owning more. That’s all it is.” He did add that he “might stick around” depending on the negotiations, “But for now, I’m looking forward to possibly being independent by the end of the year and rocking that with my guys.”
