Sony Reveals the Interface for PlayStation 5
An entirely new way of navigating the main menu.
In less than a month Sony‘s next-gen console, the PlayStation 5, will refresh everything we know about PlayStation at large, including its newly revamped interface and user experience. Sony has released footage of what the PlayStation 5 interface will look like and all the new upgrades slated to come with it.
The video above features the new Control Center, which pops up when users press the PlayStation button on their DualSense controller. It can offer several options found on the PS main menu without having to suspend whatever game that’s playing. An ongoing feed of gaming news, recent achievements, screenshots, and more will be displayed on a series of cards on the new interface.
In the row of cards is a new Activities feature with individual cards that link out to specific modes and levels within a given game. The activity displays an overview of a level, an estimated time PlayStation believes it will take to complete it, and showcase any uncomplete objectives.
Parties and the PlayStation store also receive revamps in this interface, integrating gameplay screen sharing and the PS store directly into the system software.
The PlayStation 5 will arrive on November 12.
