Awake NY Teams up With New Era to Drop Subway Series Collection
Commemorating the longstanding NYC rivalry between the Mets and Yankees.

Following its FW20 collaboration with Levi’s, Awake NY now joins forces with New Era on a collection celebrating this year’s Major League Baseball Subway Series.
To memorialize the longstanding rivalry between the New York teams, the duo released a selection of classic 59FIFTY caps adorned with an embroidered Awake NY logo on the side panel with a commemorative Subway Series patch on the opposite portion.
Accompanying the headwear are two graphic tees featuring the teams’ respective colorways and typefaces alongside Awake NY branding across the chest portions. The New York Yankees option features the phrase “Uptown is the place where I lay my dome on the streets of The Bronx where my family roam” on the back portion. For The New York Mets tee variant, the phrase “There is a war going outside no man is safe from” is embellished on the reverse.
Coinciding with the collection release is a campaign featuring New York native Yankee fans: NY Nico, Skuf YKK, La Morada, Kunle Martins, JA XTC, and Chef Lester Walker from Ghetto Gastro. Alongside New York Native Mets fans: Large Professor, Superbad Solace, Futura 2000, The Mendoza Family, Meyhem Lauren, Angie Chavez, and Jaeki. Check out the lookbook in the main slideshow above.
A portion of all the proceeds from the sale of the collection will benefit the New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) — a non-profit organization based in Queens that is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and precarious immigrant workers, with a focus on day laborers, domestic workers, and newly arrived immigrants. Purchase all items on Awake NY’s website.
Elsewhere in fashion, KITH and Russell Athletic release a selection of upcycled staples for fall/winter 2020.
