Vans Japan Unveils Icy Hi-Tech Mod Slip-Ons
Equipped with RapidWeld and UltraCush technology.

Following its collaboration with Tokyo’s MIN-NANO, Vans Japan has returned with another bold footwear piece, this time in the form of a hi-tech rendition of the label’s classic Slip-On silhouette. Featured is the Mod Slip-On, shielded with an icy rubber layer that glosses over the shoe’s familiar mold.
At its core, this particular shoe echoes the designs of the Slip-On but it’s been tweaked with modern tech updates for enhanced performance. Etched with black and white checkers, the shoe sees sleek black piping along the edge of the tongue, complemented by thin elastic straps and tiny “Vans” tabs at the sides. Contrasting the checkerboard pattern, the shoe comes with smooth white padded leather collars, followed by breathable mesh panels around the midsection. Appearing at the heel counter and forefoot is a semi-translucent waterproof coating that helps prevent moisture from seeping in. All of these details sit atop a light blue iced-out midsole, equipped with UltraCush and RapidWeld technology for added comfort and durability.
Vans Japan’s Mod Slip-Ons are currently available at BILLY’s website for $120 USD.
In case you missed it, Nike has given its classic Daybreak a rustic “Orange/Pueblo Brown” makeover.
