Stüssy Celebrates Seoul Store Redesign with In-Store Only Drops

Stüssy is set to open a Chapter Store in Seoul next month, continuing the worldwide Chapter store design language found in its London, Los Angeles and Amsterdam locations. The new store will be a redesign of the brand’s original Seoul location conceptualized by W&PA.

“Continuously evolving the Stüssy retail language of deconstructed basic materials, we kept familiar elements of the previous stores while at the same time introducing some new ones,” says Willo Perron of W&PA. “The goal was always to combine different eras of modern design, from early modernism to post modernism through the contemporary hybrids, to land at something that feels like California’s spirit of innovative adventurousness.” Photos of the store aren’t available yet, but it can be assumed the new location will carry over the simple wooden shelving, live plants and bright lighting found in similar Stüssy locations.

To celebrate the Stüssy Seoul Chapter Store’s opening, the brand will be releasing an in-store capsule collection, including two T-shirt designs offered in black and white. The first is a straightforward T-shirt that reads “Stüssy/Seoul” on the front and features various stamps on the back including the new store’s address. Rounding out the duo is a long-sleeve option that has Stüssy Seoul branding at the top left corner on the front and a digitized version of Botticelli’s Venus above the store’s address on the back.
