Check Out the Guinness World Record Holder For Largest 'Dragon Ball' Collection
With over 4,000 Son Goku figures.
Japanese Dragon Ball collector Hitoshi Uchida has just been crowned the Guinness World Records holder for his massive Dragon ball figure and memorabilia collection.
With over 10,098 different items spanning from various sagas — he has over 4,000 Son Goku items in a single room — Uchida has quit his day job to devote his life to collecting Dragon Ball-related items. His fascination started when he was in high school, often taking the train a few stops away from his home so that friends would not recognize him.
When asked what inspired him the most regarding the Dragon Ball anime/manga, Uchida replied with: “I think it [Dragon Ball] wants to tell the audience about not giving up. Goku’s opponents are always stronger at first, but Goku goes beyond that. When you face an obstacle, you go over it. I also challenged myself that way so that I can become stronger.”
For now, the collector’s only dream is to meet Masako Nozawa, the original voice actor of Son Goku. Dragon Ball fans will not want to miss the video above for a look at what 10,000 Dragon Ball figures in a single room looks like.
In other news, Moleskine & Dragon Ball join for nostalgic notebooks.
