King Princess Drops Metaphorically-Rich Visuals for "Prophet"
The second single off her debut LP ‘Cheap Queen.’
After just releasing the weirdly catchy track “Mary-Luiz (Plz Plz)” that sampled Meryl Streep‘s ear-piercing scream from the show Big Little Lies, King Princess has returned, this time with new visuals for “Prophet.”
The song marks the second single from her debut album Cheap Queen and saw an official release back in July, though the singer first previewed the track live during her tour in January at Minneapolis. Directed by Cody Critcheloe, the music video reels through a series of sets, following King Princess and another admirer. For example, the visuals kick off with Princess playing quarterback as a cheerleader tapes her with an old camcorder from the stands. The next scene brings them to a hazy jazz bar where the admirer from the previous set is now serving drinks. After a series of identities King Princess and her crush flip through, the final scene sees Princess baked into a cake, placed in a room full of dinner guests, including her crush, where she’s being eaten alive.

Elsewhere, THEY. has released its new experimental rock-charged anthem “Til I Die.”
