Jim Carrey's Political Cartoons Spotlighted in New Montreal Exhibition
Emotion-charged drawings of Trump, Clinton, among others.Now on view at the Phi Center Montreal is an exhibition displaying politically-charged cartoons by renowned actor, Jim Carrey. Entitled “This Light Never Goes Out,” Carrey showcases works on paper portraying satirical portraits of political figures while also shedding light on stateside concerns including President Donald Trump’s border policies. The comedy icon initially shared examples from his visual art practice on social media back in 2016.
“We have the privilege of presenting Jim Carrey’s delicate collection of paper drawings depicting his outrage at the current political climate since the inauguration of the current president of the United States,” said Phoebe Greenberg, founder and director of Phi. “We are pleased to present these works that chronologically illustrate Carrey’s use of the Twitter platform as an effective dissemination tool.”
