Following a tight-knit yet unemployed family of four, Parasite tells the story of son Ki-woo and his desire to provide a regular income. The plan works, however, the meeting of the contrasting families trigger a chain of dark and alarming events.
Parasite brought home the highest Cannes award in May 2019, beating the likes of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die. This also marks Bong as the first and only South Korean director to achieve the feat.
