Tobias Birk Nielsen Critiques Fashion's "Persistent and Robotic Side" in SS20 Collection
An ode to the industry’s “love-and-hate relationship” with seasonal collections.

Alongside the rest of the fashion world, albeit reluctantly, Tobias Birk Nielsen delivers its first look at Spring/Summer 2020‘s collection.
The sixth collection from the Copenhagen label, “COIL 50/1000” critiques the “persistent and robotic side” of the fashion industry, where the standard “seasonal aspect” appeals to consumer shopping habits rather than designer creativity. The result is a range that plays on this “love-and-hate relationship,” in which the clothing doesn’t particularly adhere to the traditional bold colors and light layers you may typically experience with a spring/summer offering. Crafted around the world in Copenhagen, Italy, Indonesia and China, garments are delivered in a gloomy black and taupe color palette with heavy tactical influences.
Be on the lookout for Tobias Birk Nielsen’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection to hit retail shelves around the turn of the new year.
