'Star Wars' Unveils New Menacing Sith Trooper From 'The Rise of Skywalker'
Ahead of San Diego Comic Con 2019.

With San Diego Comic Con just around the corner, Star Wars has unveiled the latest design for the Imperial First Order soldiers in the upcoming Rise of the Skywalker film, including the all-new Sith Troopers. While the official unveiling of the movie-used Sith Trooper armor will be shown to the public for the first time during SDCC, Star Wars has showcased various merchandise based on the Sith Trooper design, including a Funko Pop figure, a Hasbro toy, and even a tiki mug, which together provide fans with quite a good look at the new suit.
Much like Kylo Ren‘s fate at the end of The Last Jedi, when he completely embraces the dark side, his footmen are now seen dressed in the Sith’s signature red, fully replacing the previously white armor suits. Aside from being completely doused in the fiery shade, the most noticeable change is the helmet, now with a slit down the middle of the face where the nose would be, as well as more grooves on the surface, creating an extra-menacing expression. The rest of the suit gets an angular makeover as well, giving the soldiers a more aggressive silhouette matching that of Kylo Ren’s emotional state.
Although this is the first time we’ve seen a live-action version of the Sith Troopers, it is worth noting their first appearance dates all the way back the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game from BioWare in 2003, according to Wookiepedia.
For those who will be attending SDCC, be sure to visit the Star Wars booth where the new Sith Trooper will be displayed. Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker is due to release December, so stay tuned as more updates and reveals come through.
Elsewhere in entertainment, John Wick writer Derek Kolstad has joined the team for Disney’s Falcon and Winter Soldier.
