Take a Closer Look at the COMME des GARÇONS x Air Jordan 1 Retro High
Paying homage to biker culture.
Originally unveiled at COMME des GARÇONS‘ Fall/Winter 2019 presentation, we now have a closer look at the Japanese label’s upcoming collaboration with Jordan Brand.
Following team-ups with parent company Nike, the COMME des GARÇONS x Air Jordan 1 Retro High pay homage to biker culture with its design centered around leather and silver-tone hardware. Crafted in tonal “White” and “Black” colorways, the unique take on the AJ1 features extended tongues and a cross-strap-inspired by the design of motorcycle boots. Metal detailing comes in the form of rivets, gromets, clasps and O-rings applied all over the upper of the shoe. Branding comes in the form of typical Jordan 1 on the midfoot, ankle and heel, along with CdG and Jumpman marked tongue tags and insoles.
