Valentino is no stranger to progressive footwear, delivering dynamic iterations of its beefy “Bounce” sneaker and even branded Birkenstocks in 2019 alone. The luxury label is far from exhausted on the footwear front, and has a brand new silhouette ready for Summer 2019: meet the Valentino Garavani “Climbers.”

Seen in a stylized, distorted campaign, the weighty shoes are offered in unapologetically bold pairings like white and metallic silver and black and neon yellow, along with some more muted makeups. A substantial rubber outsole lends the silhouette heft, with layered leather panels above uniting the worlds of luxury and trek gear, coming to a head with the interlocking laces and puffy mesh tongue, complete with rubber logos. Printed “VALENTINO GARAVANI” branding accents the lateral side, offering a pristine contrast to the rugged ridges that inform the sole unit.

The Valentino Garavani Climbers sneakers are now live on Valentino’s site and will hit boutiques shortly. Check out the stylized video shot by Valentino Herfrey below.
