Nick Hakim Finds Inner Peace in Music
An artist that’s never scared to make mistakes.
For Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Nick Hakim, music has been the friendly shadow that follows him around. At every chapter, the sonic arrangements he loves and creates have given him an identity and provided refuge from the tumultuous circumstances of his life. As a kid, when his reality mirrored a marred reflection of a student on the fringes of typical school life, ostracized by his learning disabilities, he found catharsis and self-worth in writing and playing. Music gave him something to care about.
Since the release of his first project at 19, the now 29-year-old Hakim has consistently composed ballads that possess a lurid retentiveness of past experiences, revealing emotions that immerse listeners in atmospheric intimacy. The baring of his soul takes vulnerability, but he fearlessly traverses through pain, grief and happiness with ease. Hakim is never scared to indulge in those recesses, finding magic in each emotion. As a result, his music serves as a template for listeners to appreciate their mistakes in life and to just create. For these qualities, he’s been inducted into Reebok Club C, a collective of like-minded creatives, as the VP of Vibes, inspiring peers to not be bound by limitations.
Stay tuned to HYPEBEAST for the next inductee into Club C and head to Reebok’s website to enter for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to New York to celebrate the new campaign.
