Universal Works Puts Luxurious Suede Twist on Birkenstock's Boston & Zurich

Birkenstock has enlisted English label Universal Works for the release of two reworked classics, the Boston and Zurich.

The Boston clog is available in two luxurious soft suede hues of taupe and sand, whereas the open-toed Zurich silhouette receives additional slate and navy iterations. Both pairs are finished with Birkenstock’s signature black buckle detailing, and feature a shock absorbing EVA sole with a white sand tread highlight.

Speaking on the collection, David Keyte said “A household name with roots that date back over two centuries, Birkenstock is a company Universal Works has always hoped to work with. As a long-term Birks wearer, a long-term Birks fan, and all-around lover of Birkenstock products, I am both hugely excited and humbled to be given a chance to put a Universal Works touch on two of my favorite styles.”

To capture the partnership, the duo came together to create an all-male performative contemporary dance film, of which stills have been taken from to create the lookbook. The collection will be available from Birkenstock and Universal Works’ stores, as well as birkenstock.com and universalworks.co.uk from May 2 and at selected retailers, priced from £70 – £95 GBP (approx. $90 –$125 USD).
