Danny McBride Answers Prayers in Teaser for HBO's 'The Righteous Gemstones'
A comedy series centering around an ultra-famous televangelist family.
HBO has released the official teaser trailer for its new comedy series created by Danny McBride, entitled The Righteous Gemstones. Originally slated to release its pilot episode last June, the show centers on “a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work.” Starring a range of star-studded actors and actresses from John Goodman, Adam Devine, Edi Patterson, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Calvero, Tim Baltz, and Alan Williams, the new show, centers around the Gemstone family – Goodman stars as the father, Eli Gemstone, while Devine and McBride are brothers Kelvin and Jesse Gemstone.
McBride created the TV series and stars as the main character, with the pilot being written and directed by him – he is listed as both an executive producer and director of the entire series.
