Ruby Rose's 'Batwoman' Gets Its First Trailer from The CW
“The Bat’s not coming back.”
Last year, it was announced that actress Ruby Rose — whose previous work includes John Wick: Chapter 2, Pitch Perfect 3 and Orange is the New Black — would play Batwoman aka Kate Kane on The CW‘s upcoming DC Comics show focusing on the character. Since then, Rose has gone to Instagram posting about her excitement of playing Gotham’s latest vigilante, saying it “is something I would have died to have seen on TV as a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on TV and felt alone and different.” Now, the first trailer for the much-anticipated series has finally dropped.
The trailer depicts a Gotham City without the protection of the Dark Knight: “Batman gave up on us. The Bat’s not coming back.” After introducing the show’s villain, the trailer then gives us a glimpse of how Batwoman came to be and the motivation behind her putting the cowl on. It also shows us how Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane discovers the Bat Cave, which eventually leads to her suiting up. Of course, we’re provided with plenty of action sequences as well. In other entertainment news, Robert Pattinson is reportedly set to play the new Batman in an upcoming Matt Reeves reboot.
