Inspired by “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell.”

maharishi has dropped part two of its Spring/Summer 2019 collection, this time around delivering pieces which reference the 17th-century mystic, artist and visionary poet, William Blake.

Drawing inspiration from his texts “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell,” maharishi connects Blake’s ideas with its own vision for a collection of clothing which explores the balance between two opposing themes. The contrast is translated through maharishi’s East-meets-West designs, which see hand-machine embroidered details rework contemporary and military-inspired garments.

maharishi’s standout pieces include the patchwork double-pocket shirt, the artistically-stitched and patched-up cargo trousers and the two-piece fully-camouflaged outfit. Pieces are made from lightweight, breathable fabrics which lend itself to the relaxed, military-inspired and Eastern-influenced silhouettes which are synonymous maharishi’s aesthetic, which can all be viewed in the lookbook above.

The lookbook itself features heavy references to Japanese culture such as its minimalistic setting, Tatami mats and wooden lanterns and the entire collection can be bought online and at maharishi’s outposts.
