Los Angeles Lakers Reportedly Enlist Frank Vogel as Head Coach
With additional reports of Jason Kidd joining his staff.
After a tedious search, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly found their new head coach: Frank Vogel.
According to ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Vogel has signed a three-year contract with the Lakers. Upon meeting with Lakers management on May 9, an offer was quickly made two days later in an effort to end the strenuous hiring process. Additional sources have also confirmed that Hall of Famer Jason Kidd will be joining Vogel’s staff, although his position is yet to be announced.
Vogel previously served as head coach for the Orlando Magic for two seasons and the Indiana Pacers for five. He led the Pacers to two Eastern Conference finals during his five-year stint, but was unable to bring the Magic to the playoffs. His current overall record as head coach stands at 304-291.
