Maison Margiela Turns the Simple Black Sweater Into a Distressed Cape

Maison Margiela is playing up its signature deconstructed look in its latest Spring/Summer 2019 release, delivering a distressed all-black sweater that’s defined by its cape-like silhouette.
The pullover is crafted in 100% wool and features a rib-knit crewneck collar and waist band. It’s been designed with a gaping hole that drapes below the front kangaroo pocket, which is accentuated with tattered pieces to add to the handcrafted aesthetic. Minimalistic white stitching at the back of the piece rounds it all out.
