fragment design and uniform experiment have unveiled their latest project with workwear brand Burtle. After dropping off a teaser earlier this month, we receive a closer look and release details of the collaborative outerwear. Continuing the mindset of pursuing functional clothing, the trio aimed to craft a clothing that would keep people cool from the summer heat, while also providing protection from the elements. Having produced fan-cooled jackets in the past, Burtle provided the technology, while fragment and ue lended their design expertise to the project.
The result is the Air Craft Mountain parka–a high-performance nylon jacket with two detachable fans along the side. Controlled by a battery-powered remote that sits in the front pocket, the fans provide cooling circulation throughout the clothing at three different settings. The battery can be recharged via USB and last up to 11 hours at the lowest power setting. The design also includes a detachable hood featuring a reflective fragment logo, zippered pockets and a drawstring hem.
