Stone Island Spotlights Innovative Textile Design With Placcato Pieces
Constructed from a cotton canvas reinforced with special pigmented resins.
Following on from the launch of its “Fluo Orange” capsule, Stone Island has continued to expand its Spring/Summer 2019 collection with the new Placcato range. The capsule takes its name from an innovative textile design process, which sees a cotton canvas reinforced with special pigmented resins.
Pieces from the Placcato capsule are then overdyed, which means that the outer face of each garment takes on a unique chalky mélange appearance, while the interior face are completely covered by the dye. Stand-out items in the collection include pieces constructed from Malfilé cotton fleecewear, as well as T-shirts and polos made from jersey cotton and Bermuda shorts in Nylon metal. Elsewhere, the collection also includes jackets, luggage and utility-style vests.
