Extra Butter Imagines a ’90s "House Party" for Retro SS19 Capsule
Influenced by the New Jack Swing movement.
Extra Butter is throwing it back to the ’80s and ’90s for its Spring 2019 “House Party” campaign, showcasing a retro capsule full of colorblocked sportswear. The brand was heavily influenced by the New Jack Swing Movement, drawing upon the upbeat blend of hip-hop and R&B music to inform its lively new collection.
Within the assortment are staple casual pieces including hoodies, sweatpants, a tracksuit and a polo. The “DeVoe” hoodie and matching “Sadiq” sweatpants are both constructed with 100% cotton french terry and offer a coordinated look in two options: a bright multicolored combo and a more neutral navy and grey set. A ribbed kangaroo pocket and embroidered ticket logo adds finishing touches on the style.
Elsewhere in the range, the nylon “Dwight” jacket and “Bobby” pant — offered in choices of fuchsia or blue — have been crafted with piped accents and ribbing at the waistband and cuffs. The label’s ticket emblem returns as a focal branding patch. Meanwhile, “EXTRA BUTTER” logos have been stamped throughout the range, marking the central graphic on the “Walker Tech Hoodie.” The name is also embroidered at the chest on the “Riley Rugby Polo,” which rounds out the collection with a classic top silhouette.
Ranging in price from $90 USD to $150 USD, the “House Party” capsule is available to check out now on Extra Butter’s webstore.
