Ed Boon Breaks Down Every Character in 'Mortal Kombat 11'

To celebrate the release of Mortal Kombat 11, Ed Boon sat down with WIRED to break down every character included in the latest installment of the beloved franchise.

Along with serving as Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios, Boon is the co-creator of the whole Mortal Kombat series which makes him the perfect person to talk to when it comes to character backstories. Aside from proving his close work as director on Mortal Kombat 11, the gaming figure shows off his attachment to characters new and old by revealing some interesting details that went into development. Some notable moments include some insight into the origins of Baraka and the revamp we see in MK 11, information on the return of Frost and look into Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana who have become The Revenants.
