After debuting a Frank Lebon-shot campaign recently, Kiko Kostadinov and
The GEL-Sokat Infinity is the first sneaker in Kostadinov’s ongoing ASICS collaboration to come with a full GELTM midsole. The sneaker itself is influenced by Tug of War — its name is a Basque translation – with its ankle shape designed specifically for the sport. This ankle shape is a reference to the ASICS TSUNAHIKI 109 silhouette, which comes with one raised side to protect the talocrural region during Tug of War games.
Other features of the sneaker include full-length GEL-QUANTUM INFINITY tooling for cushioning, a water ripple graduation on the underside for durability and, lastly, the ASICS Spiral logo. The sneaker will release in three colorways: “Pepper Mint/Forest Green,” “Lavender Grey/Purple Plumeria” and “Dark Grey.”
To go alongside the footwear, Kostadinov and ASICS have also introduced apparel for the first time. The resulting capsule includes technical-influenced windbreakers, track pants and tops that reference both performance wear and Kostadinov’s mainline Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
The full Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS collection will be previewed at Dover Street Market Ginza on April 5, before releasing globally at stockists including SSENSE on April 19.
As well as working with ASICS, Kiko Kostadinov is also continuing his footwear collaboration with Camper for SS19.
