KICKS LAB. Honors Japanese Heritage With ASICS GEL-Lyte V “KL-Shogun”
Representing The Land of The Rising Sun.
In the spirit of last year’s “KL-Shinobi,” Japan’s KICKS LAB. rejoins ASICS for another collaborative GEL-Lyte silhouette. This time, the GEL-Lyte V receives a thematic makeover in the spirit of the samurai, again drawing from Japan’s rich culture for the “KL-Samurai.”
The duo’s fourth collaboration, the “KL-Samurai” is also one of the more muted models. Black and dark grey nubuck plays across the upper, with bold red reflective detailing on the lateral midfoot panel to reflect Japan’s Rising Sun flag. White ASICS branding on the tongue and heel offer stark contrast the the understated uppers and matching black outsoles. Finally, the insole drives the samurai inspiration home with the silhouette of a sword-wielding warrior emblazoned above KICKS LAB.’s logo.
The collaborative ASICS GEL-Lyte V releases on April 29 via KICKS LAB.’s site and Japanese storefront.
