Hidden Characters & GUTTERTM Collide For "Portal One" Capsule Collection
The Chicago powerhouses deliver on cut & sew and graphic offerings.
Chicago underground powerhouses Hidden Characters and GUTTERTM have teamed up for a meticulously-crafted and expertly designed capsule collection entitled “Portal One.” Staying true to both brands’ DIY nature, the new capsule features garments that have been designed, patterned, cut, sewn, and embellished in Chicago. Articulately-crafted using heavy linen fabrics and button closures, the capsule seeks to underscore an organic approach to clothing that ultimately takes note of our daily lives and uses.
Notable pieces include a cropped vest in linen with a mesh lining, dropped front welt pockets, detachable front and back packs that are adjustable using various tying mechanisms. Linen tearaway trousers are also included, featuring buttons from the waist to the cuff. Seams of the trousers have been “kinetically placed” to wrap around the leg for increased mobility and comfort, finished with pocketed mesh shorts that are accessible from the side seam where detachable pockets exist. The K-os tee features a plethora of graphics from the sketchbooks of both brands designers that have been emblazoned on a newly designed heavy-weight blank. Finalizing the capsule, both brands have come together to create a frog-like back that features Hidden Characters idiosyncratic graphics.
