'Game of Thrones' Delivers 40-Minute Behind-The-Scenes Video for "The Long Night" Episode
See how the epic battle came to life.
Last night’s episode of Game of Thrones was an installment for the record books. The epic episode, titled “The Long Night,” showcases the biggest and longest battle in the history of television and film. Although it didn’t completely wrap up the arc of a few expected characters, the episode does however showcase the talent of the behind-the-scenes crew who made the episode come to life.
The 40-minute video features the brutal shooting schedule that was enforced to make the battle possible, as well as the harsh weather conditions while filming. It also gives insight to how the burning trenches, the wights, and the dragons were included in several sequences.
Director by Miguel Sapochnik (who also directed “Hardhome” & “Battle of the Bastards”) also guides viewers through the process of capturing all the footage, as does the cast and crew. The young actress who plays Lyanna Mormont even makes an appearance to comment on her place in the battle.
