At the end of January we shared a look at the Under Armour Curry 6 “Working on Excellence.” Today Stephen Curry‘s sixth signature sneaker with UA reflects his sense of humor with a special “Coy Fish” makeup.
Though on the court Curry serves as one of the biggest scoring threats in the league, off the court you’ll find that he’s an avid prankster. The forthcoming edition reflects Curry’s junior year at Davidson where he played the role of a decoy for a teammate’s 21st birthday.
“We went to a little Japanese steakhouse to celebrate, and decisions were made to jump in the koi fish pond at the restaurant. I was the decoy distracting the hostess while Steve [Rossiter] jumped in and tried to grab one of the fish.” – Stephen Curry
The sneaker’s bright neon green upper is a nod to the beautiful color combination of the koi fish as it also sports contrasting black features alongside a translucent outsole. The Under Armour Curry 6 “Coy Fish” will retail for $130 USD and make its first limited launch at the Armoury at Champs Sports inside the Carolina Place Mall. A wider release will take place on February 15 at select UA stockists and UnderArmour.com.
