Jordan Peele Introduces 'The Twilight Zone' Reboot With Eerie Superbowl LIII TV Spot
The unthinkable is the expected.
Adding to the long lineup of teaser trailers shown during Superbowl LIII, Jordan Peele and CBS aired an eerie introduction to their The Twilight Zone reboot.
The 1-minute clip starts with a glitchy return to the Big Game, which cuts into a black screen followed by the message “CBS IS OFF THE AIR.” Then the screaming fans disappear as the lights go dim and the field begins to fade away.
Peele appears walking on to the grass of the empty stadium while providing calm narration that references an iconic element of the series. “Answers are new questions, the unthinkable is the expected. When truth is not the truth. What dimension are you even in?” is what the accomplished writer-director says before stepping into an out-of-place door and disappearing.
