Captain Marvel Debuts Goose the Cat in Livestream Trailer
52 minutes of ‘Captain Marvel: Goose the Cat.’
Marvel‘s past promotional campaign introduced Carol Danvers to her fellow MCU teammates, but recently, one of the more adorable and fan-favorite members of Captain Marvel has made her debut.
Goose the Cat, a member of the Flerkian and also Carol Danvers’ cat, has made it onto the trailer for Captain Marvel. More importantly, the cat recently received a 52-minute-long livestream which was part of a promotional campaign. The cat was originally named Chewie from the original Captain Marvel comics, after Star Wars‘ Chewbacca. However, in an interview with Collider, directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck decided to turn away from the spirit of Star Wars and focus on Carol Danver’s past as a pilot, renaming the cat to Goose to reference the film Top Gun.
The livestream shows Goose lazing around and enjoying snacks, all in front of green-screened movie stills while a Marvel soundtrack plays in the background. Netizens were able to choose which movie still would show next including Goose being placed in Carol Danver’s fighter jet. There has been a lot of theories surrounding what Goose’s involvement in the film will be, however, it will only be revealed in the feature film.
In more Captain Marvel news, it was recently confirmed that the film would include two post-credit scenes.
