HUF Teams With Artist Phil Frost and BE@RBRICK for Latest FW19 Collaboration
Graffiti-style prints and totemic faces throughout.
Continuing its string of collaborations with innovative creators and artists, HUF has now tapped the New York-based Phil Frost for its latest collection. Frost applies his graffiti-style drawings and signature totemic faces to pieces such as fleeces, T-shirts, outerwear and accessories, while an abstractly-printed BE@RBRICK adds a unique limited-edition option.
The assortment features a tight palette that’s grounded in black and white, allowing the shots of bright red to serve as the key color pop throughout. Frost’s swirl-like lines and figures make their way onto the likes of graphic tees, hoodies and hats, portraying what the artist calls “intuitive perceptive portraiture.” A cotton-twill workwear jacket has been accentuated with the same illustrated touch while matching socks and embroidered hats helm up the accessories.
As for the BE@RBRICK, HUF and Frost have partnered with Medicom Toy to create the figurines in 100%, 400% and 1000% sizes. Each style is lacquered with more of Frost’s heart-like shapes and conceptual faces, continuing the artsy design throughout. Meanwhile, a skateboard deck has been plastered with a photo of the BE@RBRICK to round everything out.
The entire Phil Frost x BE@RBRICK x HUF collection releases on December 19 at HUF’s flagship stores and website, while the BE@RBRICK figurine will also be available at select retailers worldwide.
Elsewhere for HUF, the brand recently paid tribute to the 25th Anniversary of Pulp Fiction with a graphic-heavy collaboration.
