Inside his Los Angeles home, the rapper Buddy has amassed such a large collection of clothing that he’s moved his wardrobe out of his closet and into his garage. Despite the quantity of items the Compton native owns, there’s no lack in quality; the artist has a keen eye for good vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces and limited-edition staples.
Beyond making a name for himself with his soul-infused hip-hop, Buddy has become recognized for his laid back but always-on-point look and his larger than life work ethic. “My whole style would probably be nonchalant,” he says. “I try to make it seem like I’m not doing a lot, even though I’m doing the most.” “The most” entails hitting up his go-to shops around L.A. that cater to his taste, including Rare Panther where they know him by name and For All to Envy, his best kept secret for exclusive pieces. Possessions aside, Buddy just wants to project love into the world, whether that’s through clothing, music or everyday interactions. “I live large by just being alive — by giving the experience that I have everyday to the world and reciprocating the love that I’m shown,” he says. “We can all just live on a higher frequency of life together.”
