Toga Virilis Debuts Glitzy Westernwear for FW19
The Japanese brand collaborates with Lee Jeans & Outdoor Products.

Toga Virilis, the menswear side of Japan’s 22-year-old Toga, showcases another blend of retro styling and contemporary design in its latest offering. Fall/Winter 2019 sees the long-running label continuing to channel ’70s American influences into a variety of louche looks.
Cowboy shirts, courtesy of Lee Jeans, are finished with striped piping, setting the tone for a collection of throwback garments that blend intentional gaudiness — leopard prints and fringed paisley shirts — with appealingly conventional cuts. A zippered floral work jacket, metallic purple puffer gilet, fur-trimmed track top and brilliant yellow Outdoor Products raincoat further drive the point home. Bleached denim parkas and billowing velvet pants look understated in comparison to a yellow/purple zebra/red knit sweater and multi-paneled shirt that utilizes a golden seahorse for a centerpiece, the perfect blend of humor and capitol-F Fashion.
The new goods hit stockists like SSENSE later this year.
Meanwhile, fellow Japanese clothing label KIDILL debuted more punk-inspired looks for Fall/Winter 2019.
