Spike Lee Wore Custom Jordans to the Golden Globes
Based on his nominated film ‘BlacKkKlansmen.’

Last night while attending the Golden Globes, director and sneakerhead pioneer Spike Lee showcased a custom pair of Jordans based on his award-nominated film BlacKkKlansmen. The one-of-a-kind custom kicks by legendary designer Tinker Hatfield were an all-gold affair accented with a red interior inspired by the show’s red carpet.
The midsoles featured slogans such as “truth to power,” “speak on it,” and “resist,” attributing to the films lettering on the shoe as well as the movie’s central themes. On the back of the shoe is a badge of Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks logo, and the name of his breakout film Do The Right Thing. Lee was nominated for Best Director, while BlacKkKlansman had nominations for Best Drama, Best Actor in a Drama for John David Washington and Supporting Actor for Adam Driver.
