Middleman Store & Grailed Link Up For a Grail-Filled Kapital Drop
Heritage fans rejoice.
After releasing its well-curated archival pieces from Raf Simons, Helmut Lang and UNDERCOVER, Middleman Store is back with the heritage-filled offerings from cult Japanese label, Kapital .
Shot in various locations around Hollywood and Venice Beach, the California setting does its best in bringing out the garment’s Western-inspired aesthetic. Key pieces are defined by their Japanese Boro patchwork-style construction; where many of the softgoods appear to be distressed from years of wear, or repaired with seemingly mismatched fabrics and materials.
Toshikiyo and Kiro Hirata’s penchant for translating Japanese heritage into fun and creative clothing can most notably be seen in the Smiley Face Heavy Knit Cardigan Robe, Boroboro windbreaker jacket, Kountry Rebuilt Military Kimono, The Rainbow Surf Kesa Jacket, and the various signature Kapital Ring coats.
Vintage fans should mark their calendars as this collaborative drop with Grailed is set to see over 75 items this coming Friday, January 11, 12:00PM EST.
