Inspired by sports tailoring and the effortlessness of classic baseball uniforms, Amsterdam-based label In Gold We Trust looked at lead designer Eric Franzel’s childhood sartorial interests for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Referencing the classic pinstripes that are so often used in button-down baseball uniforms, the latest lookbook boasts wide baseball jacket silhouettes, oversized sleeves, textured iron-on logos, and loose-fitting trousers with an androgynous feel. Deconstructed logos, exposed zips and button down collared shirts paired with sweatpants also put an elevated, tailored spin on a sports-luxe trend.
Taking place on a baseball field and in the dugout, the collection was shot in black and white, bringing to mind famous sports images of the past. The collection will be available for a closer look at 130 Rue Turenne during Paris Fashion Week from January 18. Check out what else the label is up to on their Instagram page.
