UPDATE January 29, 2019: According to reports, Aquaman has surpassed The Dark Knight Rises as the highest grossing DC Comics film ever. Even though the movie was released more than a month ago, Aquaman has now grossed $1.09 billion USD at box offices worldwide.
UPDATE January 14, 2019: Aquaman has just passed the $1 billion USD mark for total global box office revenue. According to to Forbes, Aquaman is now going toe-to-toe with The Dark Knight ($1.084 billion USD) in terms of the biggest DC superhero movie of all time.
Another interesting thing to point out is that Aquaman didn’t actually perform that spectacular domestically. In fact, $713 million USD was brought in from foreign screenings — equating to the fourth-lowest number of total domestic viewers for a DCEU film.

It has just been reported that within only two weeks, Aquaman has already beaten Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe film, internationally.
With its two weeks at the box office, Aquaman has brought in $887 million USD and is still rising, bumping Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s $863 million USD to second place in the DCEU. Hearing of the success of the film, lead actor, Jason Momoa also took to Instagram (while boarding a flight) to thank all the people that helped make the film the current number one movie in the world.
