Nigel Cabourn x Peak Performance Hits the Market in Latest Lookbook
New spins on old classics.
Swedish sports fashion brand Peak Performance unveils the second drop of its continuing creative partnership with esteemed British designer Nigel Cabourn.
The Fall/Winter 2018 collection sees a variety of hard-wearing, colorful outerwear pieces, all designed around Peak Performance’s expertise in catering to the harshest of conditions. For its inspiration, Nigel looks to vintage mountaineering gear and quintessential outerwear pieces ranging 1960’s, military parkas, to heavy-duty smocks. High-quality materials are also a key part of the collaboration, with fabrics such as ventile cotton offering strength and durability, while fleece lined pockets and hoods provide comfort and warmth. A standout within this nine-piece collection is the Peak Performance staple, the Frost Down Jacket that Cabourn has turned inside-out, with the original lining now serving as the jacket’s outer layer.
“The Down Parka is a bit of a work of art. That is a very special piece.” says Nigel Cabourn “We’ve taken a fairly commercial old-fashioned lining and proofed it to make outerwear out of that.” Take a look through the London-starring lookbook above.
