Middle Fingers & Flame Patterns Inform Life's a Beach FW18
Palace’s Greg Finch returns with more playful layering pieces.
In line with the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Life’s a Beach serves up more colorful layers for Fall/Winter 2018. The brainchild of Jeff Theodorakis and Mark & Brian Simo, Life’s a Beach was revived in 2013 by Palace‘s Greg Finch, reinventing the brand’s playful graphics for a new generation.
Appearing on the rear of long-sleeved shirts, the sleeves of reversible bomber jackets and the front of a curved brim hat, the “LIFE’S A BEACH” branding is rendered large enough that it nearly becomes an abstract pattern on a monochrome sweater and washed blue jeans. More conventional patterns come by way of flames, skull & crossbones various plaids, tie-dye and a bi-stable print of a hand flipping the bird, complemented by gloves that feature the LaB print on the middle finger. Hefty fleece coats, beanies and scarves provide the warmth necessary to survive the frigid winter weather, while all-over printed tees are suitable for year-round wear.
