As expected, the biggest announcement at Apple‘s special keynote event this year was the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Although its design is identical to that of its predecessor, it comes bundled with a lot of new features and software. The most revolutionary of these is undeniably the 3D Touch feature, which is technically a more advanced version of the multi-touch function. You’re also able to “peek” and “pop” — pulling up shorcuts and other options — with 3D Touch. It comes in a new color, rose gold, and also utilizes a new aluminum that Apple claims to be a custom alloy. It is also covered in the same Ion-X glass that is used on the Apple Watch Sport. The processor the phone runs on is new: the 64-bit A9. Apple claims this to be 70% faster at CPU tasks and 90% faster at GPU tasks compared to iPhone 6’s A8 processor. The camera is now 12 megapixels (the front is 5), the first increase in count since iPhone 4S in 2011. 4K video shooting is also possible now, as well as a “live photo” feature, which captures a clip alongside the photo you take to give it a realistic touch.

Under a two-year contract, the iPhone 6s costs $199 for 16GB, $299 for 64GB, and $399 for 128GB. On top of two-year contract plans, Apple is also offering payment plans at $27 per month. For $32 a month, you can lease an iPhone and trade it in for a new model every single year. The price also includes the AppleCare+ warranty from the company. Watch the keynote video above.
