Yayoi Kusama Joins MoMa for Collaborative Skate Decks
Collectible editions of ‘Dots Obsession’ and ‘Yellow Trees.’
MoMa and Yayoi Kusama join forces for a selection of collaborative skate decks, emblazoned with Kusama’s inimitable dot artwork. The abstract Dots Obsession and dense Yellow Trees appear in different editions on white and yellow bases, emphasizing the bold red or black dots. Dots Obsession appears in a quartet of different makes, while Yellow Trees is a triptych of connected images, piecing together the entire artwork across a trio of boards. Kusama’s Infinity Nets painting will reportedly join the other two designs as a triptych, though official imagery has yet to surface.
Limited to 500 sets globally, the collaborative skate decks drop in October via the MoMa Design Store’s site.
