Here Are All the Samples on Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' Album
Paying homage to rap greats.
With Astroworld shooting to the top of the charts shortly after its release, many are now praising Travis Scott‘s latest album for its layered sound and infectious autotune-assisted hits.
Offering a look at every single sample featured on Astroworld, the creatives at Bandstand recently put together a video highlighting the eclectic array of music Travis Scott drew from. Serving as La Flames’ third studio release, the 17 track project honors rap greats in its creation of a distinctly new cavernous sound led by adlibs and notable hooks. Leading the album is an homage to chopped and screwed legend DJ Screw, a choice cut from abc 13 Houston‘s interview with the late DJ appears on the aptly titled track “R.I.P. SCREW.” A recognizable section from the Beastie Boys‘ “The New Style” serves as the background layer on “CAROUSEL” and the intro of Notorious B.I.G‘s “Gimme the Loot” is interjected into the song “SICKO MODE.”
