'Suicide Squad' Soundtrack Secures the No. 1 Spot on the Billboard 200
It’s the highest selling movie soundtrack since the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ soundtrack dropped 18 months ago.
Although critics haven’t been too kind about Suicide Squad, the negative press hasn’t seemed to hinder the success of the film’s soundtrack. Billboard reports that the Suicide Squad soundtrack has landed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with 182,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This is the highest first-week sales for a movie soundtrack since the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack moved 210,000 units 18 months ago. The Suicide Squad soundtrack also knocked DJ Khaled’s ninth studio album Major Key from the top of the charts, which tumbled down to No. 7 in its second week with 43,000 units sold.
