Adele Declined Offers to Play the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show
“I mean, come on, that show is not about music.”
During her concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles yesterday, Adele took a moment between songs to quash the rumors that she’ll be performing at next year’s iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show. Originally reported as an exclusive by The Sun, Super Bowl organizers were allegedly gunning hard for the UK soul pop superstar, but she revealed that even though they “were very kind,” the answer was no. “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” she confirmed. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I don’t dance or anything like that.” After the audience groaned at her decision, Adele joked that she would consider it “next time” after she’d released an album with dance music on it.
