Yesterday we gave you ƱZ’s Essentials, and today we are back with another installment — this time featuring Knxwledge. The Los Angeles-via-New Jersey/Philadephia producer is signed to Stones Throw and since 2009, has released over 60 tapes/projects with a few of them being full-length albums (like 2010’s Kloud and 2013’s Kauliflower.) He is also one-half of the duo NxWorries with singer-drummer Anderson .Paak, who will be featured six times on Dr. Dre’s highly-anticipated upcoming album Compton: A Soundtrack. Although Knxwledge’s work is already highly-regarded by many, his biggest break may have been producing the track “Momma” on Kendrick Lamar’s critically-acclaimed sophomore release, To Pimp A Butterfly. In his Essentials, he shares both music and lifestyle items. Production-wise, he uses Beats Pill XL and PowerBeats 2 to reference his music. He creates with the Ableton Push and sometimes an iPad Mini, and ensures his sonics are of high-quality with some nice Oyaide cables. Knx is quite the gamer, showcasing his favorites such as Sega Genesis’ Ultimate Mortal Kombat, a Dreamcast memory card, a PSP 1000 with its UMD case, and a SEGA Power Stone game. Other items include some rare Nike’s and Nautica hoodie, Mei pouch from Fukuoka, a bag of Skittles, and his most recent CD Hud Dreems. Check them out above, and stay tuned for our soon-to-be released interview with Knxwledge and Anderson .Paak.
